I've got to give credit to Dos Equis' brilliant marketing campaign. What makes it brilliant is that it combines humor, self deprecation, and instills a bit of wonder and inspiration. If only wine companies knew how to market this well. I love the motto of the Man: "Stay Thirsty My Friends"
One of my mottos is "Stay Curious." Makes my life much more interesting and is a key to enjoying wine as well.
Lots of good people come to the Lab and say "I only like 'whatever'." They've had some bad wine experiences in their past or they have just lost their curiosity. We encourage them to try a wine flight. It's the best way to learn about wine. Taste as many different wines as you can. We keep our flight prices low to encourage experimentation. Never think you've tasted the best wine ever. There's a big wine world out there of tremendous diversity. And it all changes every vintage. I guess it can be overwhelming but it shouldn't be. One of the joys of wine is the temporality. The bottle you taste today may never taste the same or even exist in the future. Embrace the new of today and tomorrow. Stay curious my friends.
Our Current Crushes
This is a $9.99 wonder. When was the last time you purchased a wine for $10 at the grocery store that made you happy and gave you a pleasant new experience? We met some of the folks behind Castano when we were in Spain this year. All their wines are good. This one is good and cheep! Monastrell and Mourvedre are the same grape - I'm always surprised by this big Rhone varietal. Get some every-day drinking pleasure for $9.99.
Many of you liked the Perrin Vinsobres Les Cornuds 2006 at $18.99. I just got some of the 2004, perfectly aged and ready to impart maximum taste, for only $12.99. This is an experimenter club selection for September.

Free Parking
Validation in the garage under our building.
There are two dedicated spots outside of the entry gate - no need for validation. If those spots are filled, enter the garage (underneath our building) and park in any visitor spot and we will validate your ticket. If someone is collecting a parking fee - tell them you are going to the Wine Lab and take a ticket.
